Final Outcomes-Narrative Image

This post shows my three final outcomes for my Narrative Image making project. The first is of the 'wolfie' character, the second is of the 'glam-ma-ma' character and the third is of the little red riding hood character.
I am really pleased with the outcomes of these images. I have managed to create the sinister feel that I wanted to achieve.

Image manipulation inspiration for FMP

I found these images when looking for inspiration for my FMP. I know that I want to base my project on photography and image manipulation. I have gained various ideas from some of these images as to what theme I can base the project on and how I can achieve these.

Photo manipulation

Below is my image of the "Wolfie" character in my narrative. I have used the fish eye effect (which I have already posted a step by step of in my blog) on the wolf like characters face. When creating this effect I found that I couldn't make as larger change to "Wolfie's" head as I originally planned to. This is because it created a clear line between the fish eye selection and the rest of the photograph. I then created a seperate fish eye effect on "Wolfie's" eye to emphasize this.

Once I had created the fish eye effect I experimented with making "Wolfie's" eyes look more sinister and dark. I used the curve tool along with the history brush as I explained in my previous post, to create the darker bags under the eyes. I then went on to change the colour of "Wolfie's" eyes as he didn't look sinister enough with blue eyes. I decided to change them to a yellow colour so that they resemble a wolfs eye. I didn't want to make this look too fake so I changed it as subtly as possible. I did this by copying the layer and then playing around with the hue and saturation until I managed to change the eye colour to a yellow. This changed the whole photograph to bright colours so I then went back to my original layer and used the brush tool to brush the colour through the image.

I am pleased with the result so far but I have still got the text to add to the image. I also want to try and create the mysterious, glowing look that I have managed to create on the photo of Little Red Riding Hood.

Photo manipulation

I am really pleased with the outcome of this below image. It is not completely finished as I still have text to add to the image. I have managed to create the dark/ cloud effect around Little Red Riding Hood by creating a new layer and then filling it with black. Next I made this a multiple layer. I then created a new mask layer to this layer and again filled this with black. This made the black background disappear until I brushed over the areas I wanted to darken and create a moody atmosphere. I changed the hardness of the brush and the opacity so it merged into the image.

I have managed to also create a glowing effect to Little Red Riding Hood's face by using the curve tool to make the photo really light, I then undid this but used the history brush to bring back the lightness to the face. I did the same thing to create the lighter eyes.

Photoshop tutorial website

I found these really good websites that shows various tutorials for Photoshop. I found these when looking how to create a dark, mysterious feel using photoshop.
